Google Review Appeal: “Decision Pending”, “No Violation” and How to Win the One-Time Appeal
After you report a review, the Reviews Management Tool shows its status. “Decision pending” means Google is still reviewing. “No policy violation” means the report was rejected – and you get one appeal per review. Win it by adding new evidence and naming the exact policy, not by repeating the report.
What each status means

How to file the appeal
- Open the Reviews Management Tool and select the rejected review.
- Choose to appeal the decision.
- Name the policy it breaks – see the list of violations.
- Add evidence the first report didn't include: records, screenshots, timeline.
- Submit and track the status.
What makes an appeal win
- One clear policy, not five.
- Facts, not feelings: “No customer named X visited on that date” beats “this is unfair”.
- Evidence Google can check – reviewer patterns are especially strong for fake reviews.
- Short and specific. Reviewers read a lot of appeals.
When the appeal is rejected

How long does “Decision pending” last?
Usually a few days, occasionally a couple of weeks. If it's much longer, check that the report was submitted correctly.
Can I appeal twice?
No. Each review gets one appeal, which is why it should include everything you have.
Can I report the review again instead?
Reporting the same review again without new information rarely helps. Use the appeal.
